Happy Thanksgiving...

Today I am grateful for...

My amazing husband who taught me about unconditional love and is always there for me no matter what.

My beautiful, sweet, kind and silly girls who are the loves of my life!

My unbelievably faithful friends who allow me to say whatever I want without (too much:) judgement! I couldn't do this without you!

My family. All of it. Immediate, In-laws, Step, long lost brothers and cousins....Thank you!

My age. I love being mid 30 and finally finding out what my life is supposed to look like. And I am happy to report that I love it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Happy Thanksgiving!

Turkey for you and Turkey for me...

Last week Kyla had to make a "family" turkey for her homework. You could use any materials you wanted and parents could help if needed. We went to the Craft store for supplies and Kyla went wild with the glitter and pink feathers. Ted drew the outline of the turkey and Kyla filled it in. It was a lot of fun and turned out pretty sassy! Jill wanted a school project too so she made one as well. They both turned out great.

Here is Jill's using markers, glitter and lentils.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! This is definitely a year to be thankful for our family, friends and good health!

Emma's birthday party...

We were lucky enough to help our dear friend Emma celebrate her 5th birthday. Lot's of fun! Happy Birthday Emma!

Another trip to the pond...

Everyday that doesn't rain (and even sometimes when it does) we try to head out for a walk to the duck pond. One of my favorite things about Bellingham is their awesome trail system. We have trails everywhere that take you anywhere in the city. Very well planned out and very well kept up. Here are some shots from our most recent excursion.

Movie Night with popcorn PLEASE!!!

Taking turns cranking the stove top popcorn popper. This is the most used item in our kitchen!

Dancing Queens...

Here is a favorite shot from last week. Love this one!!! These girls are so dang cute!

Artichoke Dip...

Sorry I have not taken many photos over the last week. I have been obsessed with facebook and neglecting the blog. I have reconnected with so many old friends and even some long lost family members. It has been awesome! I also had a few days all by myself with the girls staying with my mom. THANK YOU! But with the holidays quickly approaching I thought I would give out my favorite artichoke dip recipe. This is so easy and one that is always requested by friends and family.

1-14oz can of artichoke hearts-roughly chopped. (I use the quartered ones that are not marinated.)
1 cup mayo
1 cup grated parm cheese
1-4oz can diced green chilies

Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes-Bubbly and slightly brown on top. Serve with tortilla chips.

Political conversations with a 5 yr old...

Kyla: Today we got to vote at school.
Me: Really? That is great.
Kyla: I do not have to tell you who I voted for. It's my right.
Me: You're right. You do not have to tell anyone. You get to vote for whoever you want.
Kyla: I won't tell you if I voted for John McCain or Barack Obama.
Me: Ok. You don't have to tell me.
Kyla: Well I did vote for the guy in the blue box but I am not going to tell you his name.
Me: **Smiling inside. You go girl!!!!!

Trick or Treat...

This year we stayed in the neighborhood and went trick or treating with all of our buddies. It was so much FUN! I could here the kids giggling and laughing all the way up the street! They stayed out for almost 2 hours. The weather was perfect!
Kyla as Ariel and Jill a husky cheerleader.
Our GOOD Friends and neighbors...Emma, Hazel, Jill, Billy, Kyla and Brady.
Kyla and Billy. Billy brings out the fun and silly side of Kyla.
Here is Kyla doing her "candy dance" in a circle of goodies.
And of course Jill bustin' a move.
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!!!!

Halloween...

This one is for you Grandma Kay...remember this dress?? Jill found it in the hand-me down bin and instantly fell in love with it. She also won't take off the necklace you gave her!

The schools do not celebrate Halloween anymore but have a pajama party instead. Her is Kyla on her way to school in her Halloween pjs. She had so much fun!
