great toy website

I was doing some early B-day shopping for Kyla and found this website again. It is a great website for unique toys. I have ordered a few things over the last year for the girls and have been very impressed with the items. They offer the Haba brand which I have always loved. Enjoy.

Jill's gymnastics

Both girls have been taking gymnastics for a few weeks now. They absolutely love it! The teachers are great and we look forward to class every week. Here are a few shots of Jill's class. Jill loves the fact that her teacher's name is Jill.

Jill snoozin'

Each night before I go to bed I check on the girls. I often find Jill in very precarious positions. I decided to start taking pictures so that someday I can show her. Here is one of my favorites. I have also found her asleep in her closet at nap time before. At least this time she was in bed.

Kyla's school

Last week Kyla's school started to work on their outside garden. They first cleaned up the area and painted the fence. This week they will work on planting the starts the did early in the spring. The kids are all so excited about this project and take great pride in their work.

Rockin' with Dan Zanes

The entire family headed to Seattle today to see our favorite guy live at the Moore Theater. Dan Zanes rocks the house. We had so much fun. This was the second time Kyla and I went and we were so glad to share the experience with Ted and Jill. We ran into a ton of friends there. It was so great. If you ever get a chance to see him, young and old, do so. He has great energy!

Neighborhood wildlife

This afternoon we were at the swings in our commons area when we were surrounded by 5 deer having an afternoon snack. The girls thought it was fun to swing and watch the deer move around them. Luckily Ted has his phone with him so that is why the picture is not the best quality.

Too much pink? Say it isn't so.....

So Jill has been picking out her outfits for some time now but today was just too cute. She said she picked this outfit because she wanted to feel like a Ballerina. When I brought her a pair of pink crocs to put on she said "Oh no. Not those shoes. That would be too much pink." Gotta love her!!

New Friends

Today we had a playdate with our new neighbors, Emma and Hazel. Emma who is 4 just joined Kyla's preschool class. The girls were thrilled to be able to walk to their playdate. But talk about a small world....Our new neighbors happen to be friends with one of Ted's close friend Darren Mills. They were friends in Port Angeles.

We ended the day with a walk after dinner and a bed time story. Maddie (the dog) often joins them especially when they are reading her favorite book, Skippyjon Jones. Skippyjon Jones is a Siamese cat that thinks he is a chihuahua. Skippyjon Jones also has a sister named Jilly Boo Jones which Jill loves. It is a great book and one Ted loves to read since he can do his crazy voices.
Then, using his very best Spanish accent, he said, "My ears are too beeg for my head. My head ees too beeg for my body. I am not a Siamese cat....I AM A CHIHUAHUA!"

Family Movie Night

So I made it home in time for movie night with Ted and the girls. I had spent the weekend with my girlfriends in Leavenworth. We had a great time! Ted stayed home and had a great time with the girls. The got to skip baths, have donuts and play outside. When I got home on Sunday we made popcorn and enjoyed the movie Monsters Inc. I am not sure what the girls liked more. The movie or being able to eat popcorn while watching TV.

Visiting Good Friends

Today we headed down to Mukilteo to visit Kyla's BFF, Sierra. The kids had not seen each other for about 4 months. They played like they just saw each other yesterday. Kyla and Sierra have always had a special bond and it helps that I love to hang out with Sierra's mom, Sue! Thanks for a great afternoon and we will see you next week at Dan Zanes!

Sunday April 13th

We headed out early this morning to hit the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Just as we crossed the border it started to rain so we decided to drive to Vancouver and see if we could find the Aquarium at Stanley Park. We found it! Stanley Park is amazing. www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/parks/parks/stanley/. Definitely a must see if you are ever in Vancouver. We had a blast at the Vancouver Aquarium. http://www.vanaqua.org/
We saw a ton of fish, starfish, sea otters and Beluga Whales. We didn't even see half of the exhibits! We can't wait to go back to explore more of the park as well as the rest of the Aquarium.

Saturday April 12th

What a spectacular day! We spent the morning outside cleaning up the yard and playing. Our good friends Robert, Kristina and Hope came up from Seattle later in the afternoon for dinner. We ate, played outside, had a sing along, played animal charades and ended the night with a bath. We can't wait to see them again. Thanks for making the trip Koser Family!

Friday April 11, 2008

We got Jill's new glasses back today. Hooray! It is amazing how much the bi-focals were helping. She was having some difficulties with stairs and running the last few days without them. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they continue to help. Otherwise the next step for her will be surgery. Right next to the optical center is a neat park called Cornwall Park. It is our new favorite spot with a great play structure, walking trails with bridges and a sprinkler park for those warm days.

I am often asked by people where we get Jill's patches. The website is http://www.patchpals.com/. These patches work so much better than the adhesive ones. The adhesives ones were literally pulling off her eyebrow and skin. Patch pals has a huge selection which makes it fun to wear. We have had a lot of success with the patch pals. This is her puppy one.

Pictures from the yard

Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Happy Spring!

Monday April 7, 2008

Today we spent the morning at the eye doctors because Jill broke her week old glasses. Hmmmm...........I wonder how they got broken?
We spent the afternoon playing play-doh and filling up our piggy banks. Mom cleaned out her purse today so we got lots of coins. "Now I can buy a candy bar" says Kyla. Jill says she wants gum. Yeah right. That's never going to happen!

Saturday April 5, 2008

We spent the morning making cupcakes for Grandma Kay's birthday celebration later that day. The girls helped make the cupcakes. They are both getting really good at cracking eggs!

We had fun at Grandma Kay's house seeing our "big" cousins. The boys taught us how to play a really tricky cup game. It was a ton of fun! Happy Belated Birthday Grandma Kay!
