We have been watching and listening to a pair of birds build a cozy nest inside our wall. We tried to fix the problem last weekend but Ted's 24' ladder was not quite tall enough. We decided to work on it again this weekend as Ted has been away at a conference all week. The birds have been quite busy pulling out the insulation and filling in the hole with sticks. We have talking a lot about the birds and the nest as the girls have been quite concerned. Yesterday Kyla said "I have a solution to our bird problem. We should read the Dr. Suess bird book.Maybe that would give us an idea." The book is called The Best Nest by P.D. Eastman. After we read it we realized that the the birds think ..."there's no nest like an old nest..." Oh well. I have to give her credit though. What a creative idea!

CUTE POST!! Wow - that was pretty smart of Kyla to think of options. We have a little birds nest like that too. However, not quite as perfect a hole as that!
You told me about your bird nest yesterday, but your pictures explain it even better. What a great way to learn about little birds.
