Lazy Days of Summer

Sunday we stayed home and enjoyed the sunshine in our backyard pool. It is so nice to finally have the yard to have a large pool set up. Even Ted got in on the fun!

Swimming with the cousins

Saturday we got to go to Grandpa Mike's house and go swimming with all of the "Post" cousins. We hadn't seen Ryan, Luka and Nicole since last summer so it was so great to spend the day with them. They are visiting us from DC. Taylor and Elexa were there too. After our swim and some pizza we headed to Grandma Jeanie and Grandpa Gerrie's house for dinner. At the end of the evening Nicole and Kyla put on an amazing puppet show with a program and a script that they had written. They even asked us to turn off our cell phones prior to the show. It was a great way to end a wonderful day!

Slip & Slide

Today we had the neighbors over for some slip & sliding and popsicles. It was fun sliding down the hill. We are looking forward to more nice weather this weekend. Maybe we will even break out the pool.

Birthday Money

Kyla received some birthday money and it was starting to burn a hole in her pocket so she asked if I would take her to her favorite store in Fairhaven called Wild Blueberries. She picked out a few things and wanted to show everyone what she got. So here it is.... Thank you Grandpa Mike and Uncle Steve, Aunt Melissa & Boys for the $!

Princess Patch

I asked Jill what she wanted to blog about today and she said her princess patch. I thought she looked like the girl on her patch today with her pigtails or rather "my tails" as we like to call them.

Life doesn't get much better than this!

Pink Wheels

Kyla was so excited because she got a pink, 2 wheeled scooter for her birthday. She got the hang of it pretty quick. Jill was thrilled to receive Kyla's old Dora scooter. Now both girls are scooting all over the place!

Kyla's Underwater Adventure

Saturday we had Kyla's 5th Birthday Party. She wanted an Underwater Adventure with Pizza and a Sea Berry hunt. It was a fantastic party. The kids all had a blast. We ended the party with a Sea Berry hunt in the big field. The Sea Berries were actually plastic easter eggs filled with goodies but the kids played along and had a great time running around collecting the "Sea Berries" Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate! A big thanks to the Altendorf's who drove all the way from Everett for the party.

To finish off Kyla's Birthday Bonanza we had Grandma Kay & Grandpa Bob, Grandma Jeanie & Grandpa Gerrie, and Aunt Michelle and gang over Saturday night for dinner and a few even spent the night and helped us celebrate on Sunday! Thanks to Aunt Michelle. Uncle Lex, Taylor and Elexa for making the 3.5 hour drive! Grandpa Mike called us early in the morning to wish the Birthday Girl a very Happy Birthday and then we headed to Kyla and Jill's favorite spot, Bob's Burgers for Brunch. We also took them to Lake Whatcom and Whatcom Falls to show off some of our favorite Bellingham spots. We had a super fun time and we were so glad they could come.

Happy Birthday Big!

Today Kyla turns 5! Wow. I can't even believe that she is 5 years old. Time has just slipped by! I feel so honored to be her mother! Kyla is a sweet, kind, emotional yet determined girl. New music

We are always on the look out for new music. We love to listen to music in the car and at home. Some of our Favorites are Raffi, Dan Zanes, Laurie Berkner and Jack Johnson. Today we discovered someone new and have instantly fallen in love with her. Her name is Elizabeth Mitchell. She sings some new original songs and a lot of our old favorites. Here is her website. We hope you enjoy as much as we do.

The Circular Motion Song

So I had a few requests for the words of Ted's Circular Motion Song. So here goes:

Happiness comes in a circular motion
Happiness comes cuz' it's circular
Happiness comes in a circular motion
Happiness comes cuz' it's circular
Licky, licky licky licky lou, Licky lou
Fuji whomp, Fu-Fuji whomp....

It's not quite the same without the dance moves but you can do want you want to make the song your own.
