Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun and relaxing weekend. Here is a recap:

Friday we met our neighbor friends at the lake for a picnic. The girls had fun playing at the playground.

Saturday Ted and Kyla went to the Ski to Sea parade in dowtown Bellingham while Jill and I hung out at home. Kyla's favorite part of the parade were the marching bands and cheerleaders. We ended the day with a b-que. It was a beautiful day.

Sunday we worked in the yard and had our friends the Kosers over for dinner. They brought their bouncy house with them and the girls had a blast. Thanks for making the trip again!

Monday has been a quiet day at home getting things ready for a busy week. Ted and I will be heading to Idaho for his Grandpa's funeral and the girls will be staying with my mom. Then we will pick up the girls and head to the Riverhouse with 3 other families for a fun-filled vacation. Looks like we should have lots of sun and fun! Hope you all had a breat weekend and we will touch base when we return next week.

In Loving Memory...

We will miss you Great Grandpa Elden!

Kyla's kindergarten tour/orientation

Today Kyla and I went to the Kindergarten Tour and Orientation for next year at her new elementary school. We got to check out the library, cafeteria, playground, classrooms and even get on a school bus. I was so surprised to find out the the half day kindergarteners will be eating lunch at school everday in the cafeteria. I was so excited for Kyla but holding back the tears. I know we still have months before this happens but wow, how time flies. I can't believe she will be in kindergarten next year. I know she will have a blast. She has been so fortunate to have had a great preschool experience. She is more than ready for the next step. I, on the otherhand, not so ready.

Kyla's gymnastics performance

Kyla had her end of the season gymnastic performance this week. She did a floor, bar and beam routine. It was fun to see how much the kids have improved in the last few months. Here are some shots.

Typical Jill

This is where I found Jill this morning......

She was trying to reach Kyla's leapster. Kyla hid it from Jill because she said Jill will break it.

a note from Kyla & Jill

From Kyla.....Thank you Aunt Michelle and Uncle Lex for letting us stay at your house over the weekend. We missed Taylor since she was on the boat with her friend. Her friend's name is Sammy. Mommy and Daddy had lots of fun at the Hotel and Daddy liked the steak he had that was as big as my head. I like your frog and the dog you have in your car. I can't wait to see you again.

From Jill....I love Aunt Michelle. My like rib bet frog. My like staying at Aunt Michelle and Uncle Lex's house. I like the rubber ducky on the computer and camera. I love you and miss you.

Jamify

Here is a picture of the girls all "jammed up" as Ted would say. Tonight Jill got out of the bath and sweetly asked if I could Jamify her ( Ted's way of saying to put on your pajamas). Oh boy. She is starting to pick up Ted's unique language. Hopefully by the time she starts school she will be able to distinguish the difference between English and her Daddy's crazy vocab.

New Friends

So today we had our 4th playdate with our new neighbors Emma and Hazel. The girls get along so well and I enjoy their Mom's company as well. It is so nice to be meeting so many great people in Bellingham and we feel so lucky to have some of them just across the street.

A very Happy Mother's Day

What a great day. We spent the morning at my favorite beach and then headed to Bothell to see both sets of Grandparents and Aunt Michelle and family. We all had a ton of fun. Thank you Ted, Kyla and Jill for making it so special. I love you guys! Happy Mother's Day to all of my mom friends!

Update on the bird's nest

We got to check up on the birds that we first saw earlier in the week. They are growing fast and

A visit at Grandma's

We went to spend the night at Grandma's Monday because Jill had an early appt on Tuesday at the eye doctors. We had a great time as usual. There are 2 bird nests and we were lucky to see the baby birds just after the eggs hatched. It was quite a sight. Kyla also attempted to ride a 2 wheeler with great determination. While she has not yet mastered it, she is very close. I think she just wanted to wait to accomplish this feat with a little help from her Dad.

On a side note....Jill's eyes are doing GREAT! The doctor was very encouraged by her progress with the bifocals. Whoohoo!!! Jill is doing great with the eye exams. She has them down pat as she has been going through them every 8 weeks for the last year.

The baby birds

Kyla trying her hardest to master the 2 wheeler. She did not have a helmet at Grandma's that's why she is riding on the grass.

Playing Dress Up

Here are some shots of the girls dressed up like princesses. This happens almost daily.
